Episode 2: Preparing for a new audience

Hey everyone,

Thanks for tuning in to the second episode of Podcasters' Emporium. I'm really pleased that I managed to get this finished before the end of the weekend, because I think it's going to be a fun episode.

I've also created this episode in Video Podcast as well, without the music, so if you're interested in the studio, I'll also make a permanent link at Podcasters' Emporium Cafe our facebook group, so head on over and let me know what you'll think.

I do a little bit of editing on the final audio track, so you might spot a couple of stammers and stumbles in the video copy. If you like raw, then you'll definitely like this video.

Our feedback line is open for your comments on today's program, your feedback and even if you want us to plug your podcast. Either leave a comment at 612 8003 5205 or on skype at podcastersemporium, or email your audio files to podcastersemporium@gmail.com

Have a great week and I'll see you next time in the Podcasters' Emporium!

Cheers,
James

Really enjoying the podcast James. Just thought I would add some comments as I listen, listeners have done it for me and it is rather cool.

Podcasting is in the early days, I am still amazed that there are sooo many ppl out there that have never heard of podcasts.

It is so cool when you see someone "get it". Love that. Question: OK so about the ppl that are not here yet: How do we get them here? Admittedly my show is not aimed at the noob, but how do I pick up listeners that I know are interested in my show but don't know I exist? I have been doing this for over 2 years and I even talk to people in shops about podcasting! lol.

Did not go to podcamp unfortunately :(

I just noticed that you don't have an "About Page" But I was going to mention that it is great to have a podcast for podcasters that is Australian woot!. That is - if that is what you are aiming for here :)

I really can't get into the 2 track split... But that is me - I am a bit of a content, content, content music man. But each to their own.

Great show and a lot better than the last. I should really send you some audio feedback... Note to self give James some audio feedback. Check!

Keep up the great work James, subscribed :)

Dave, Mitch, Laurel,

Thanks all for your comments about Episode 2. I'm feeling my way into this podcast... it doesn't quite fit like a glove yet, but I'm sure it will over time.

Interesting comments about the two-track split Dave.

There are two reasons I've setup the program this way. Firstly, I enjoy podcast music, so it's a bit of an indulgence.

Secondly, (and this comes from my days as a trainer) I try to give people time to refocus. My training tells me that listeners tune out after 20 minutes, and I suspect that this is shorter now with GEN Y, and so I use music to do this.

The aim with the music is to give them a mental break and bring them back fresh for something else after the music.
